How We Manage the Work

A structured system for everything, planned or not

We maintain a development backlog that keeps all work visible, prioritised, and moving. It has three distinct streams.

01: Recurring

Repeating tasks

We compile and maintain a list of recurring work: routine maintenance, scheduled checks, regular updates. The list grows as we learn your environment, is reviewed with you monthly, and then runs without your day-to-day involvement.

02: Planned

Agreed development work

Features, improvements, and projects that we have aligned on with you. These are scoped, prioritised, and scheduled through our internal sprint process. You agree on what is next. We manage how it gets done.

03: Unplanned

Urgent response

Bugs, unexpected issues, anything that cannot wait, handled immediately. Documentation follows after resolution, and we update the plan to flag any impact on scheduled work.

Behind the Scene

What we handle, so you don’t have to

Running a development team involves a long list of things that are easy to underestimate until you are doing them. Every item below happens on your behalf, inside our team, without your involvement.

Team briefings

Before anyone touches your systems, they are briefed on your business, your priorities, and the relevant context. You don’t manage this.

Staff training

When we bring someone new onto your account, we train them on your environment, standards, and processes. You do not train us.

Hiring

When your workload grows or a new skill is needed, we hire for it. No recruitment process, no interviews, no technical hiring decisions on your side.

Code review

Every piece of work is reviewed internally by a senior software engineer before it reaches you. You never receive unreviewed code.

Testing

Thorough testing is part of delivery, not an afterthought. We only ship what we're confident in.

Sprint & release planning

We manage our own capacity, schedule, and delivery rhythm. You agree on priorities; we handle the mechanics.

System monitoring

We monitor your systems continuously. If something goes wrong, we often know before you do.

Proactive work proposals

Security gaps, fragile processes, important improvements: we identify them, explain them, and propose a path. Nothing waits to be noticed.

Technical decisions

Architecture, infrastructure, security trade-offs, handled internally. We bring you conclusions and recommendations, not the underlying debate.

Deployment infrastructure

CI/CD pipelines, environment management, release processes, owned and maintained by us.

Contractor coordination

If you work with other IT partners, we coordinate with them directly. You don’t broker technical conversations between vendors.

Direct staff communication

Your team can bring requests and ideas straight to us. We log them, check them against agreed priorities, and plan them within your capacity, so nothing is duplicated, lost, or started without agreement.

Front Stage

What you see

Your experience of working with us is designed to be clear and uncluttered. This is the surface: the part that directly involves you.

  • A point of contact who knows your businessOne person. Consistent. Remembers what was discussed last time.
  • Regular progress updates and a monthly reportA clear written record of what was done, what changed, and what is next.
  • Features built, problems fixed, systems improvedThe work, delivered to you. On time, reviewed, tested, and documented.
  • Strategic conversations, two to four times a yearSit down with us and talk about where the business is going. We shape our work around your direction.
  • We reach out when something needs your attentionAnd silence when it doesn’t. We don’t escalate noise.

How We Guide You

We don’t just execute a backlog.
We guide you through the technology.

Front Stage covers the day to day. This is where we look further ahead: aligning technical decisions with where the business is going.

01: Business Level

Where the business is heading

Direction from those conversations becomes our roadmap: what gets prioritised, what changes, and what we build next.

02: Team Level

The right tool for the right person

We talk with the people using what we build, learn how each of them works best, and choose technology that plays to it, not a generic rollout.

03: Scouting Ahead

What’s next, evaluated early

New technology, a new integration, anything you haven’t used before: we research it first and come back with a recommendation, not a question.

Every Month, Like Clockwork

The same rhythm, every month: plan, build, report. No surprises.
